Still Alice

Still Alice is an uncompromising portrait of an accomplished woman diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Julianne Moore, in a career-high, Oscar-nominated performance, plays Alice Howland, a university professor who has everything she wants—a happy family, a successful career, and a solid grasp on life. But the latter begins to slip away after a slight memory lapse during a lecture, which after several more incidents results in the devastating diagnosis. What follows is a highly original take on her story, as we experience everything through Alice’s point of view as she copes with the inevitable progression of the disease, while trying to hold on to the person she is.
