SLOW WEST

Set in the hills of Colorado, Slow West is a Western with a post-modern spark. Sixteen-year-old Jay Cavendish has voyaged from Scotland to find Rose Ross, the girl he loves. Inexperienced and frail, he’s unprepared for the dangers that await him on the wild frontier. Enter Silas Selleck (Michael Fassbender), a tough-as-nails bounty hunter who hedges a deal to protect Jay on his quest. What the teenager doesn’t suspect is that he is the bait to rope a monumental bounty that will have Silas set for life. Ponderous and poetic, violent and resonating with a dry sense of humor, Slow West is an unconventional take on the Western genre that won a top prize at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Justin Chang of Variety calls it “an intriguingly off-center Western.”
