PELICAN DREAMS

PelicanDreams
Pelican Dreams

Pelicans are a fascinating enigma of the avian world. Expert fishers with highly unique skills, their ideal seaside habitat is shrinking by the day. In the documentary Pelican Dreams (from the director of The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill) the plight of the California brown pelican is explored through the experience of one rescued bird. It begins on the Golden Gate Bridge where a wayward pelican has stopped traffic. Eventually rescued and sent to an avian refuge, the pelican called Gigi is rehabilitated and released back into an unsure environment where she may or may not survive. Frank Scheck of the Hollywood Reporter says, “Pelican Dreams will give you a new appreciation for these creatures sometimes referred to as “flying dinosaurs”.
