SECRET MASTERPIECES:
NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE (2001)
Presented by Olympia Bed Store & Rush in Dumplings
Programmed by Sophie Zucker
$11 GA / $8 OFS
Misunderstood masterpiece? Absolute trash? Maybe both? Not Another Teen Movie shows no mercy as it skewers the conventions and clichés of a well-worn genre. Join Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh), an aspiring artist who is outcast by her classmates for wearing glasses; and Jake Wyler (Chris Evans), the all-American football star who makes a foolish bet to turn Janey into a prom queen, in a risqué romp with an assortment of twisted takes on classic teen characters and teen movies.
Dir: Joel Gallen / 2001 / US / 88 min

“I chose Not Another Teen Movie because I think it’s an incredible satire that goes under the radar because it’s parodying an already slept-on market: the teenage romcom. The way it packs in references and plots from almost every teen film under the sun is Sondheim-esque, weaving separate works into one cohesive story. I love this shit.” – Sophie Zucker

Patrons, performers, staff, and volunteers are no longer required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination. The threat of covid, seasonal flu, and respiratory viruses are still out there. OFS will continue to provide masks (while supplies last – we have tons), surface and hand sanitizer, and regular air filtration system maintenance. We encourage mask-wearing at concerts and indoor gatherings and keep snacking and drinking in seating areas only.

If you test positive for COVID-19, stay home for at least 5 days and isolate from others in your home to avoid spreading COVID-19 to others. If you are not feeling well, we ask that you call out for your volunteer, stay at home, and come back when you feel better to minimize the spread and to help keep others at the theater healthy and keep our operations going.
