Le Week-End is a bittersweet comedy about long-worn love and what it takes to make it last. Married more than 30 years, Nick and Meg are vacationing in Paris on a quest to breathe life into their ailing relationship. Amid the Parisian sunsets and the Eiffel Tower, the British couple laments their love and losses over so many years of togetherness that may be growing more suffocating than comforting. That is the view of Meg, who is contemplating moving on. Nick (Jim Broadbent), on the other hand, is determined to hold on to the marriage that he clings to like a life preserver. Between their bickering, interspersed with tenderness, the unexpected appearance of an old friend (Jeff Goldblum) drags the couple from their self-absorbed fog and may hold the answers that they seek.
