From the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro, and Academy Award-winning director Hayao Miyazaki, comes a heartwarming family adventure.

When Sosuke, a young boy who lives on a clifftop overlooking the sea, rescues a stranded goldfish named Ponyo, he discovers more than he bargained for. Ponyo is a curious, energetic young creature who yearns to be human, but even as she causes chaos around the house, her father, a powerful sorcerer, schemes to return Ponyo to the sea. Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale The Little Mermaid, Miyazaki’s breathtaking, imaginative world is brought to life with an all-star cast, featuring the voices of Cate Blanchett, Noah Cyrus, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Frankie Jonas, Cloris Leachman, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, and Betty White.
Dir. Hayao Miyazaki / 2008 / Japan (English Dub) / 100 min

Set sail without leaving your seat!

The Olympia Film Society and Grays Harbor Historical Seaport invite you to a powerful day of film and history at the Capitol Theater in Olympia, WA. All benefiting the ongoing restoration of Washington State’s own tall ship, Lady Washington.

This one-time-only event brings the community together to support a living piece of maritime heritage. As Lady Washington undergoes a major restoration to prepare for her next generation of voyages and education programs, your ticket purchase helps keep this iconic ship sailing for years to come.

Enjoy a special maritime-themed film on the big screen; chosen to inspire, entertain, and deepen appreciation for the seafaring stories that shaped our region.

Learn about the restoration effort and how you can be part of preserving a one-of-a-kind vessel that has appeared in films, music videos, inspired generations, and educated thousands.

Every ticket sold directly supports the rebuild of Lady Washington. One plank at a time.

Together, we’re restoring more than a ship. We’re preserving a legacy.
