Soldiers with a mysterious sleeping sickness are transferred to a temporary clinic in a former school. While nurses tend to the comatose men, a volunteer Jenjira, feels a unique connection to one of the patients. Meanwhile the only conduit into the soldiers’ condition is Keng, an aide with psychic tendencies who taps into the sleeping men’s thoughts as they hover in the world between wakefulness and dreams. Mystifying, thought provoking, and wholly romantic in scope, CEMETERY OF SPLENDOR is a transcendent, gently hypnotic experience. Justin Chang of Variety calls it “a wondrous journey where the simplest forms of everyday life become hallowed and mythic.”
