A Christmas movie that cuts deep and leaves you sighing like a forlorn Douglas Sirk character. Aspiring photographer Therese (Rooney Mara) spots the beautiful, elegant Carol (Cate Blanchett) perusing the doll displays in a 1950s Manhattan department store.
