A Perfect Man
The romantic drama A Perfect Man depicts a married couple coping with infidelity. James (Liev Schreiber) and Nina (Jeanne Tripplehorn) have been together for nine years. His need for constant change calls for sexual role-playing games, in which the couple pretends to be strangers who run across each other by chance. But Nina’s participation in her husband’s fantasy scenarios isn’t enough. Five affairs later, she’s finally ready to leave, believing that he has some kind of disorder and feeling that she was stupid to stay. To confirm her suspicions, she poses as a Swedish travel agent and lures James with a sweet voice and charm, and she is surprised by what she hears—that the husband she thought she knew may be a different man altogether. A Perfect Man takes romantic convention and twists it at will, creating an unpredictable movie-going experience.
