Environmental Film Festival! Digital Conversion is upon us!

A Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to springtime at the Capitol Theater. Now, as we all start looking to the outdoors for activities, is the perfect time for our annual Environmental Film Festival. From April 19-21 we bring 8 films that inspire conversation about the state of the world around us. I hope you will join in as tackle issues of alternative energy, hunger in America, and more.  This is also a time where OFS is kicking our fundraising efforts for digital cinema equipment into high gear. As you may have heard, film companies are quickly phasing out standard 35mm film prints, which threatens the daily film showings of new titles you’ve come to expect at the Capitol Theater. Since our film festival in November, we have already raised roughly 1/3 of the estimated cost. Now is the time for you, our faithful members, to take part: Please consider mailing in a gift or going online to our website and making a donation of any amount. With your help, we can keep movies on screen, the Theater active and vibrant every day in downtown Olympia. Thank you in advance for your help!
