Formed in 1980, REAGAN YOUTH is a political hardcore punk band that embraces the “Anarchy + Peace & Unity” school of thought. Along with the Misfits and Kraut, they were one of the most influential early punk bands in the New York area and performed regularly at the iconic music venue CBGB’s. The band’s songs were about the evils of society, poking fun at the religious right, racism and of course, the policies of Ronald Reagan. They’ve shared the stage with the Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Cro-Mags, Subhumans and even the young, punk rock Beastie Boys. Olympia Pyrate Punx are pleased to welcome Reagan Youth to Olympia, along with their friends 13 Scars (Tacoma) and Oly locals The Deceptives. Join us at the Capitol Theater’s Backstage and support traveling and local bands.
