Letter from the Executive Director
Summer is just around the corner and we know you can’t wait to spend time outside soaking up the sun and
gathering with friends. The long, gray, Washington winter certainly can cause a case of cabin fever! However, I want to remind you that one of our biggest challenges at OFS is to support our annual budget of $500,000. Keeping our doors open and lights on through the beautiful summers in the Pacific Northwest is no easy task. So, I ask that you make the time to come inside and spend a few hours with your friends at OFS and keep supporting arts and heritage. We promise to entertain you!
It’s time for an update on building projects! OFS is proud to partner with Puget Sound Energy, Thomas Architecture Studio, Richmond Engineering, and the City of Olympia to begin our Phase 1 electrical upgrades. Beginning June 2016, we will be taking on the challenging task of making the theater more electrically modern, and therefore safer and more efficient to operate. There’s much more to be done and we’re excited to get this major project off of our to do list, but it comes with a big price tag of $10,000. With your continuing and generous support, we can reach this goal. Be a part of something that benefits our theater and you, our loyal OFS patrons!
Please consider making a contribution (as much or as little as you can afford!) to keep our stage and screen lit up during the summer months. Donate online from our home page or drop by the theater box office, it’s just that easy!
This program is chock full of incredible movies and events too many to mention here, but read on friends because summer time fun is happening indoors at the Capitol Theater!
