This will be a fundraiser for Olympia Jazz Central (OJC) to bring back live jazz back to the community. OJC has organized, advertised, and promoted live jazz shows, and brought local, regional, national, and international jazz bands and ensembles to Olympia. OJC is a non-profit 501c3 committed to education by awarding monetary grants to local students in high school jazz bands. Music enthusiasts are invited to a one-of-kind-event to explore the many musical facets of composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist musician, author, teacher, and prison volunteer David Lee Joyner.

On March 20th, 2023, at 7pm at the Capitol Theater in downtown Olympia, a documentary movie will be shown, followed by a live hour-long music concert. The documentary, True Love, by local Visual Stroyteller, Bill Lange, will feature interviews with Joyner, his family, friends, colleagues and students, as well as musical performances of his compositions. After the movie, David will perform some of his most beloved works and selections from his new album, Up Front, in a live concert.

Olympia Jazz Central has organized, advertised, and promoted live jazz shows, and brought local, regional, national, and international jazz performers to Olympia. OJC is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that exists to cultivate an appreciation for jazz music within the community; to encourage and inspire students of jazz music; to advocate for and support jazz musicians; and to promote live jazz performance in the greater Olympia area and surrounding region. OJC is awards monetary grants to local students in high school jazz bands
