Pizza Klatch’s annual fundraising event is back and now IN-PERSON! Featuring a fantastic prize raffle, silent auction, PK student performances, and a variety of musical, dance, and drag performances by Pizza Klatch students and staff! All proceeds go towards supporting the LGBTQ+ youth of Thurston County.

This year’s Gayla theme is ‘Masquerade Ball’ aka ‘Mas-Queer-Ade’ and will feature a carnival of community revelry, as well as a familiar variety of fundraising activities including our popular locally sourced Online Silent Auction, a Prize Raffle, the return of Raise-the-Paddle and brand new amazing Pizza Klatch youth performances as well as some musical and drag performances by our very own Pizza Klatch staff members! Costumes and masks are encouraged, but in no way required.

RAISE THE PADDLE
One of the most exciting parts about returning to an in-person event is the chance to have an in-person Raise-The-Paddle fundraiser once again! Registration to bid can be done so online via our Gayla website. You can register to bid prior to the event or at the event itself with one of our many amazing Gayla volunteers.

ONLINE SILENT AUCTION
The Gayla Silent Auction will go live online Friday, May 12, 2023, and close Friday, May 26, 2023. Items available for auction are locally-sourced and include everything from handmade goods to exciting excursions, pampering packages and one-of-a-kind experiences! Bidding will take place on our Gayla website, but some auction items may be featured or on display at the live Gayla!

PRIZE RAFFLE
Our prize raffle will take place live during the Gayla. You can purchase Raffle tickets at the event, $20 for 5 or $5 for 1. Raffle prizes are locally sourced and will be listed prior to their event on our website, www.pizzaklatch.org.

PK STUDENT, STAFF & VOLUNTEER PERFORMANCES
One of the most popular portions of every Gayla are performances from some of the very youth we serve. After all, this event is for them! Performances have included everything from comedy to clarinet to color guard to choreography! It’s always an exciting variety. This year we’ll also be welcoming to the stage Pizza Klatch staff member and volunteer facilitator performances! This will include the musical stylings and PK volunteer facilitator, Tela Rose as well as PK’s own Finance & Fundraising Director, El Sánchez performing with their regionally renowned comedy cover band, Lightning Bolton, the #1 (or only) Michael Bolton drag king cover band!

Bringing the house down this year on the Gayla stage will be another crop of amazingly talented Pizza Klatch youth, sharing a variety of performances including music, dance, singing and more! Plus, for the first time ever, we’ll be showcasing multiple performances by Pizza Klatch’s very own staff and volunteers!

TELA ROSE
Long-time guitarist and new volunteer Pizza Klatch facilitator, Tela Rose, has not only been creating music for decades but has been a professional guitar instructor in our community for over 20 years! You may have even seen her perform locally with her band Morning Glory. We are so excited to have her join us for a solo performance on the Gayla stage!

LIGHTNING BOLTON
Your soul providers, here to give you a little time, love and tenderness, Lightning Bolton is the Pacific Northwest’s’ premiere, if not only, regionally renowned Michael Bolton cover band. Featuring the adult contemporary musical stylings of co-lead singers, keyboardist/guitarist Michael Rain (Sarah Skilling) and choreographer/saxophonist Michael Thunder (El Sánchez) and joining them as always is scarf dancer, **current life partner (**subject to change). Michael Thunder is the alter ego/drag persona of Pizza Klatch staff member, El Sánchez.
