GREEN BOOK

March 1 – 7
GREEN BOOK

Nominated for five Oscars at the 91st Academy Awards, Green Book is one of the most critically discussed films of 2018. When Tony Lip (Mortensen), a bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, is hired to drive Dr. Don Shirley (Ali), a world-class Black pianist, on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South, they must rely on “The Green Book” to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for African-Americans. Confronted with racism, danger—as well as unexpected humanity and humor—they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive on the journey of a lifetime.
Dir: Peter Farrelly / 2018 / US / 130 min

“Thanks in large part to the winning chemistry between Ali and Mortensen, and a pretty darn inspirational true-life story as its foundation, this was one of the best times I’ve had at the movies this year.” – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times

“Thanks to the dream team of Mortensen and Ali, both giving Oscar caliber performances, audiences will be rightly cheering this hilarious and heartfelt true story of a black musician and his racist driver on a 1960’s tour of the Deep South.” – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

“In a world that seems to get uglier every day, this movie’s gentle heart and mere humanity feel like a salve.” – Leah Greenblatt, Entertainment Weekly
