Dan Dobler, a local legend, recently passed away. We are holding a memorial screening of some of the movies that Dan appeared in…which were many! Dan was a favorite local talent that was cast in films by Reid Urban, Freddy Dobler (Dan’s nephew), and others. Dan was a great actor, man about town, and an all-around awesome person! His love of 60’s music brought him to San Francisco at the height of the psychedelic era. In San Francisco, he began acting in the Improvisation Incorporated Group and never stopped. We are presenting this screening as a format to remember and honor Dan’s life in an open and celebratory way. And since he has appeared in many local movies on the screen at the Capitol Theater it seems like a natural choice to revisit these movies in the same theater. Come celebrate Dan’s cinematic life with us!

CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS

Our top priority continues to be the safety of our audiences, artists, volunteers, staff, and the community. Beginning July 1, 2022, OFS will no longer require proof of vaccination. OFS strongly encourages and recommends when attending a performance at the Capitol Theater that all audience members wear a mask over their nose and mouth except when eating or drinking. Due to the continuing COVID-19 threat, it is critical to continue protecting and supporting those individuals who are immunocompromised or medically vulnerable, or who remain concerned for their own health or the health of their family or community. OFS encourages people to be kind and compassionate to individuals, students and businesses that choose to continue wearing face masks.

OFS management continually assesses the changing guidelines, artist contracts, and local government updates. We reserve the right to require health and safety protocols for all performances.  We will proactively communicate any change in health protocols with advance notice.

If you feel sick, have any of the following symptoms, or have tested positive for COVID-19, we request that you do not attend any performances:

Cough
Sore throat
Shortness of breath
Trouble breathing
Fever or chills
Loss of smell or taste
