Olympia Surfrider Chapter & the South Sound Surfrider Chapter Presents:
Coextinction
Post-Film Discussion w/ Victoria Obermeyer, Coextinction’s executive producer and videographer
$12 GA & $9 OFS members
Doors 6pm / Show 7pm
Impending extinction comes to a tipping point for one of the world’s most iconic species and ecosystems, revealing the true nature of our interconnectedness. For two young filmmakers, this crisis sparks a stunning journey across the Pacific Northwest, joining activists, scientists and Indigenous leaders, to uncover corruption and stop injustice before it’s too late.

Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network. Volunteer chapters across the world work on issues concerning plastic pollution, ocean protection, beach access, coast and climate issues and clean water. The Surfrider Olympia chapter recognizes that fighting for these issues in turn works to conserve and protect healthy, biodiverse ecosystems and critical species. To the PNW, that includes our resident orcas and salmon. Bringing the film, Coextinction, to our community further spreads awareness and education on the importance of their survival. Please join us for this award-winning documentary film and meet Victoria Obermeyer, the Executive Producer and Videographer.

Patrons, performers, staff, and volunteers are no longer required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination. The threat of covid, seasonal flu, and respiratory viruses are still out there. OFS will continue to provide masks (while supplies last – we have tons), surface and hand sanitizer, and regular air filtration system maintenance. We encourage mask-wearing at concerts and indoor gatherings and keep snacking and drinking in seating areas only.

If you test positive for COVID-19, stay home for at least 5 days and isolate from others in your home to avoid spreading COVID-19 to others. If you are not feeling well, we ask that you call out for your volunteer, stay at home, and come back when you feel better to minimize the spread and to help keep others at the theater healthy and keep our operations going.
