POST-FILM DISCUSSION w/ DIRECTOR DRU HOLLEY

Free Screening / All Donations Go to The Women of Color in Leadership Movement
Join us for a special screening of Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts, a documentary film produced and directed by Dru Holey. Sponsored by the Women of Color in Leadership Movement and Media Island International, in partnership with the City of Olympia. In 1866, six all-black cavalry and infantry regiments were created after Congress passed the army organization act. They came to be known as Buffalo Soldiers. Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts explores the often contradictory role played by the Buffalo Soldiers throughout American history, with particular emphasis on the settling of the American west.
Dir: Dru Holley / 2022 / US / 61 min

CURRENT COVID PROTOCOLS

Our top priority continues to be the safety of our audiences, artists, volunteers, staff, and the community. Beginning July 1, 2022, OFS will no longer require proof of vaccination. OFS strongly encourages and recommends when attending a performance at the Capitol Theater that all audience members wear a mask over their nose and mouth except when eating or drinking. Due to the continuing COVID-19 threat, it is critical to continue protecting and supporting those individuals who are immunocompromised or medically vulnerable, or who remain concerned for their own health or the health of their family or community. OFS encourages people to be kind and compassionate to individuals, students and businesses that choose to continue wearing face masks.

OFS management continually assesses the changing guidelines, artist contracts, and local government updates. We reserve the right to require health and safety protocols for all performances.  We will proactively communicate any change in health protocols with advance notice.

If you feel sick, have any of the following symptoms, or have tested positive for COVID-19, we request that you do not attend any performances:

Cough
Sore throat
Shortness of breath
Trouble breathing
Fever or chills
Loss of smell or taste

For more information, please see our operations announcement.
