Pioneer Elementary is proud to present the 2016 Arts Walk installment of Robots, featuring the artistic talents of students grade K-5. A generous grant from the Pioneer PTA has given our students the opportunity to participate in Arts Enrichment in music, visual art, movement and drama during school hours.

PINATAS

The Latino Youth Club of Olympia High School is proud to present the 2016 Arts Walk show of piñatas made by our diverse group of youth. There will be a booth for creating unique beaded jewelry as well as a few surprises throughout the day. Come celebrate our beautiful culture.

The LINCOLN ALL SCHOOL MOVIE PROJECT
STARTS @ 3PM

The Lincoln All School Movie project is a handmade, cameraless 16mm abstract animated motion picture collaboration among approximately 350 students, teachers, staff and volunteers at Lincoln Options Elementary School in Olympia. Each person gets 3 seconds – 72 frames of fame and self-expression. Come witness the spectacle of an entire community on one reel on the jumbo screen – accompanied by live sounds – in our historic Capitol Theater for Artswalk!

Organizer / instigator / Lincoln parent Hathor Vergotis dreamed this up as a fun way to kickstart a planned ongoing artist-in-residence program at Lincoln, and in response to the Lincoln Parent Council’s goal to bring more experiential learning to students, and greater direct interaction with practicing artists.

Ringleading project artist and direct animation zealot Devon Damonte (who also teaches OFS’ 35isAlive workshops!) can’t believe this is really happening, just the way he’d always imagined, everyone everywhere making direct animation always ‘n’ forever!
