What is the Higgs boson or ‘God Particle’? That’s what scientists have wondered since its theoretic discovery in 1964. Particle Fever follows the current quest to find this elusive piece of a mesmerizing puzzle that could be the key to unlocking the hidden secrets of the universe. Based at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (The European Organization for Nuclear Research), a sprawling, multimillion-dollar science experiment is being performed by a group of avid scientists and the aid of thousands of computers. In this fascinating documentary, the parties involved reveal their competing theories in an absorbing and understandable style. From the scientist rooting for the proof of the multi-verse to the theorist whose viewpoint is immersed in logic, Particle Fever delves into a world where universal discovery isn’t just possible, it’s certain. Kenneth Turan of The Los Angeles Times says, “The gift of this film is that it’s able to make these inquiries and the scientific quests not only comprehensible but unexpectedly captivating.”
