In 1962, French New Wave co-founder Francois Truffaut wanted to free Hitchcock of his reputation as a light entertainer, so he scheduled a week-long interview with the director. What followed covered the groundbreaking techniques of both filmmakers in a volume that would become essential, inspiring generations of filmmakers and film lovers. In Hitchcock/ Truffaut, this historic meeting is celebrated, along with its illuminating influence on some of today’s best filmmakers.
