High-Rise is a thought-provoking sci-fi thriller based on the classic novel by J.G. Ballard. Tom Hiddleston portrays Dr. Robert Laing, the newest resident of a luxurious apartment in a high-tech skyscraper whose lofty location places him amongst the upper class. Laing quickly settles into high society life and meets the building’s eccentric tenants: Charlotte (Sienna Miller), his upstairs neighbor; Wilder, a charismatic filmmaker who lives with his pregnant wife Helen (Elisabeth Moss); and Mr. Royal (Jeremy Irons), the enigmatic architect who designed the building. But as Laing grows comfortable, he begins to discover the dark truth lying beneath the shiny, architectural veneer. Andrew O’Hehir of Salon calls High-Rise “a mesmerizing, intoxicating film about the true costs of economic inequality.”
