A football player and his friends travel to the planet Mongo and find themselves battling the wicked tyrant, Ming the Merciless, to save Earth. Based on the wildly popular comic strip of the same name by Alex Raymond, Flash Gordon stars Sam J. Jones as the heroic Flash and Max von Sydow as the evil Emperor Ming. Fetishistic costumes, lunatic storyline, tongue-in-cheek humor and stunning special effects join together for a perfect storm of B-movie magic. Featuring a killer soundtrack by Queen and produced by film legend Dino De Laurentiis, Flash Gordon is a total blast.
