Sun 7/13 5:00 –  featuring Q&A with Jennifer Ganey, Holistic Health Counselor, Mon 7/14 6:30; Tue 7/15 9:00; Wed 7/16 6:30; Thu 7/17 4:00 & 9:00

Dir: Stephanie Soechtig / 2014 / USA / 92 min / DCP

Narrated and produced by Katie Couric, this documentary documents the disastrous effects the food industry’s highly processed products and marketing are having on our health and the health of our children. The film combines personal stories, interviews with scientists, politicians, teachers and medical professionals with clear and easy to interpret data points to build a strong case in an engaging manner. The lobbying processes that prevent the government from enacting meaningful policies to help with the issue are highlighted as a barrier to needed changes happening. After a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival early this year, Fed Up has received rave reviews for its style and substance. “The film is a call to action: watching Big Food lobbyists fight, sabotage and misdirect any attempts to provide our kids with better food while being reminded that there are kids younger than ten dropping dead from heart attacks creates a significant condemnation of our current system.”-Robert Cameron Fowler of Indiewire.
