Featuring a heart-warming story, the trademark Jim Henson wit, and beautiful songs, Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas originally aired on HBO in 1977. The story is a spin on the classic “Gift of the Magi,” (by O. Henry) with the impoverished Emmet and his Ma each making a sacrifice in the hopes that it will help them win the yearly talent show, and enough money to buy the other a Christmas gift. A heartwarming and adorable movie suitable for all ages.

The Grinch is a bitter, grouchy, cave-dwelling creature with a heart “two sizes too small” who lives on snowy Mount Crumpit, a steep high mountain just north of Whoville, home of the merry and warm-hearted Whos. His only companion is his unloved, but loyal dog, Max. From his perch high atop, the Grinch can hear the noisy Christmas festivities that take place in Whoville. Annoyed, he decides to stop Christmas from coming by stealing their presents, trees, and food for their Christmas feast.
