Café Society is the latest irreverent comedy from legendary writer/director Woody Allen. Set behind the scenes in the burgeoning 1930’s film industry, Bobby (Jesse Eisenberg) is a young screenwriter who treks to LA in the hopes of getting his foot in the door. Little does he know that he’s about to become embroiled in a set of dilemmas more dramatic than the most impassioned Hollywood melodrama. Caught in a complicated love triangle between his agent (Steve Carell) and his potential love interest (Kristen Stewart), Bobby attempts to find his true self in a hilarious world constructed of tinsel town dreams. Kenneth Turan of the LA Times says, “Café Society is a gorgeous and lightweight confection, a love letter to the Hollywood of the mid-1930s, as well as the New York of the same era.”
