David I. Herman aka “DOZ” is an artist that works in mixed media, including digital art, who makes use of the medium that is best adapted to the desired effect to achieve. Some of the mediums used are oil paints, acrylic paints, eggplant ink and colored inks, pens, markers, pencils, conte and oil crayons, ball point and technical pens, and truly whatever is available. He uses sponges, sand papers, scrapping tools, palette knives and erasers. Both positive and negative tools. He incorporates mechanical tools as well: stencils, French curves, compasses, 45° 45° 90° and 30° 60° 90° triangles, flexible curves and much more. He uses airbrush, paper clips, tooth brushes, rollers, and more still. These cover the major tools. An odd tool would be a Golden Rectangle spreader, large compass sets, homemade tools, and I work with live models, reference materials and my imagination best of all. I am also a licensed tattoo artist with my own studio at the same address, visit his website at www.tatguy.com, to see the tattoo art also.
Call to book an appointment to arrange a tattoo or look at 40 or so more paintings for sale. He is available for commission work, portraits in my style or fantasy art. He does logos and design work also. Over the years he has had many art shows and exhibits and have been part of collective exhibits. Some of these exhibits were: TCC Coffee shop – Detroit, Michigan, Helen Caniff Gallery – Lake Orion, Michigan, Ninth & Tenth Annual Helen Deroy Art Competition Novi – Michigan, Artisan Gallery – Southfield, Michigan, Detroit Free Press Clubby invitation Detroit – Michigan, The Scarab Club – Detroit, Michigan, One Man show – Tacoma, Washington, Union Street Gallery – Detroit, Michigan and more.
