John Huston’s Annie is a joyous musical full of enthusiasm and light set during the Depression. Annie is a feisty little red-headed girl who resides in an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan, as portrayed by the magnificent Carol Burnett. When she’s not rebelling against the higher ups, she’s leading her fellow orphans in infectious musical numbers to lift their spirits. When a rich man comes looking to adopt a child to improve his image, the exasperated Miss Hannigan offers him Annie to get her out of her hair. Suddenly Annie is living in the lap of luxury, but will she be able warm the heart of the stoic Daddy Warbucks (Albert Finney) and finally find a family who loves her?
